Microsoft recently slashed the price of the Xbox 360. This price cut makes Microsoft's Xbox 360 the cheapest video game console on the market. The Xbox 360 game console has dropped in price and is now selling in the UK for £129.99.

The Game Shop is selling the Xbox game console plus Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 bundle for £129.99.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village to launch acroos Europe on 7th of November

Nintendo has announced that it will release Professor Layton and the Curious Village on Nintendo DS across Europe on the 7th of November. The game which is already out in Japan and North America will delight puzzle fans with over 130 puzzles and more will be available each week via Nintendo WiFi.

This is the first in a series of logic puzzling adventures. Nintendo says players of all ages will be challenged to the limit as they search to unravel the hidden secretes of the village St Mystere.

The game centres on Professor Layton and his sidekick Luke. Players must successfully decipher the numerous taxing puzzles that they face in the Curious Village throughout the game. Professor Layton and Luke will meet the curious townsfolk of St Mystere who will try and confuse them with riddle and conundrums to hinder their path.

Players must show off their detective skills to uncover as much information as possible from conversations and the environment around them.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - available on PlayStation from 16 September

A must have for Star Wars game lovers, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be available on PlayStation 3, PS2 and PSP as from 16 September. Sony Computer Entertainment America is teaming up with LucasArts and BestBuy to commemorate the release of the game in San Francisco on the night of 15 September.

Everyone is invited to the launch party. Those who attend will get the chance to meet up with a number of special guests including Sam Witter (Darth Verder's Secret Apprentice who is also the main character of the game.
Executive Producer Haden Blackman will also be there together with and others members from LucasArts.

In Addition those who attend will get the chance to play the full version of the game and also get the opportunity to have photos taken with Star Wars characters.

Official PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Headset unveiled

Sony has unveiled the official Bluetooth headset for PlayStation 3. The Headset will be offered in one retail version of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation this October. It features a prominent Mute button and a charging Cradle and it will work not only with your PS3, but also with Bluetooth enabled cellphones.

Well, the new Bluetooth Headset has got some new features. Anand Agarwal, Product Manager for PlayStation Peripherals wrote on the PlayStation Blog introducing soem of the new cool features:

1. "The headset will feature “High-Quality (HQ) mode” with PS3. In this mode, the headset will take advantage of advanced voice technologies and noise cancellation techniques to provide clear and wideband voice input to the PS3. The HQ mode will ensure a much better voice chat quality on the PS3.

2. HQ mode will also enable accurate speech recognition required to support or enhance ‘Voice Command’ and ‘Voice Animation’ features. Voice Command was originally used in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs for PS2 to administer the AI-controlled teammates using the WHO, WHAT, and WHERE format (example: Bravo, Attack, Nav Point Zulu). Voice Animation refers to the in-game character mimicking you during voice chat. With HQ mode, these features can be enabled on a much larger vocabulary in select PS3 games.

3. PS3 will display an in-game status indicator exclusively for this headset that will show the headset’s connection status, battery charge level, speaker volume level and microphone mute status.

4. Tired of wearing the headset during a long multiplayer gaming session or is your headset battery running out of charge? Just dock the headset in the supplied charging cradle, and the headset will work as a desktop microphone while charging.

5. Last but not least, the headset will automatically pair with the PS3 by connecting with a USB cable.

The Official PS3 Bluetooth Headset will be available together with SOCOM: Confrontation Bundle, which will cost $59.99, and as a stand alone peripheral at $49.99.

Sony introduces improved PlayStation Portable

Sony has unveiled plans to introduce an updated version of the PlayStation Portable (PS) game console, in Japan in October. The new PSP includes a built in microphone and the ability to use the gaming device as a Skype telephone.

The new machine called the PSP-3000 will cost $180. It is also being promised for the US and Europe next month.

The move is Sony's latest attempt to catch up with Nintendo's DS, the portable gaming unit that has outsold the PSP. Nintendo is also ahead with it's Wii gane console which is also out selling Sony's PlayStation 3 game console.

Microsoft has slashed the price of Xbox 360 game console in Japan

Xbox price cut to woo Japanese gamers.

Microsoft last night slashed the prices for the Xbox 360 game consoles in Japan, a very competitive market where the company has been struggling against rivals Nintendo and Sonny. The cheapest of the three models, Xbox 360 Arcade, will now cost £100.
"We have set the prices with hopes more people will be able to enjoy Xbox 360," Takashi Sensui, who heads Xbox operations in Japan, said at a Tokyo event to outline the company's year-end business strategy.

Microsoft has faced tough competition in the next-generation gaming machines from Nintendo, which has been recording booming sales with it's Wii game console, and also from Sony's PlayStation 3.

Microsoft has also said a 60-gigabyte Xbox 360 will be introduced in Japan at US$270, while the Xbox Elite, the top grade, will be reduced by 17percent from US$440 to US$370.
